Tanara Teal-Tate

Tanara Teal-Tate is the Executive Director of Parking & Transporation, The University of Tennessee Knoxvillec ampus.  She is responsible for managing the external operations of the department to ensure efficient access to the University and provides leadership and management guidance to departmental staff.  Tanara ensures that parking policies support the needs of the campus administration and other users, including student groups, neighbors of the University, vendors, conventions, and other customers.  She has over 20+ years of parking industry experience leading high-quality teams and has completed the Rising Higher Education Leaders Fellowship with EAB in 2021 to advance her professional growth and development. 

Tanara held a previous position as the Director of the University of Tennessee Health Science Center Parking authority.  Prior to that, she held several managerial positions with the University of Memphis, including the interim director.

Tanara holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering and Master of Public Administration from the University of Memphis.  She also holds certificates in Local Government Management and Urban Education.  She currently is a Doctoral candidate in the department of Instruction Curriculum and Leadership, achieving ABD status with a tentative graduation date of August 2023.
